Pastor Robert Blanchard has served Community UMC since January 2022. He has enjoyed getting to know the people of North Muskegon and also currently serves on the Sexual Education Advisory Board for North Muskegon Public Schools. His passions in ministry are found especially in Christian education/formation and liturgical renewal.
Prior to coming to Community UMC, he served Lansing First UMC and Clinton UMC. He attended seminary at Methodist Theological School in Ohio (MTSO) where he graduated in 2018 with a Master of Divinity specializing in Biblical Languages and Texts and a Master of Theological Studies specializing in Church History. While at MTSO, he served on their Institutional Review Board, was a teaching assistant for New Testament Greek, and received the Nystrand Award in Homiletics and the Gindlesperger Bible Award.
In his spare time he enjoys reading sci-fi and fantasy, birdwatching, tabletop roleplaying games, and weightlifting. He is married to his wife Keri, and they have three pets: a dog named Loki and two cats named Monster Truck and Noodle.
